As the end of the year is nigh, I assumed it is about time to decide which were my favourite books and my not so favourite books of the year are. So, I present to you the 2015 BOOK AWARDS! Presented by the fabulous, fantastic Angelina Jolie. Nah, just kidding, it's me.

Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops (Jen Campbell) BOOK REVIEW

Ahoy!

I don't think I've reviewed a non-fiction book on here yet! Sorry it's so blunt, I couldn't really think of much to say for such a short book! 

  

In a Nutshell:
A montage of funny comments from customers in bookshops.

The Actual Review: 

I first heard about this book when I saw it in Carrie Fletcher's video background and couldn't help being intrigued by it (and how couldn't you be?!). The basic setup is quite literally each paragraph demonstrating each conversation. 

Every couple of pages, I found myself laughing at them, but some of it was just waffle that shouldn't have been in the book. The book also includes memories from other bookseller's at the back of the book, all of which were quite funny. 

If you're looking for a funny book you can read in <1 hour, this is the one for you!

2) I love travelling - I want to go on a Europe tour (going to every country in Europe!) and visit a country on each continent.

Nearly New Year, New Stuff

For a long time the layout has been bugging me, so I've decided to find a new layout. I was browsing layouts online and found one that I absolutely love, so am changing it to this.

 I am still working on it: reuploading pages which have weirdly gone missing, so hopefully in the new year it will all be back!

A few months ago, I did a poll asking you guys which blog name you thought was best. Hence, I will be changing the name of this blog to One World, Too Many Pages (although the URL is staying the same, I'm not ready to completely move on from TheDonkeyInvasion!)

Also, I'm pretty sure that no one has noticed I'm no longer doing my monthly Spanish post. They were getting too hard to do and the quality of them was crap. I'm not saying I won't do them anymore, but they won't be a feature. #literallynobodycares

I'll change the name on the 1st January! 

I hope this isn't too much too soon and that people will stay with me! What do you think of the new layout?

In a nutshell:
Maddy is allergic to everything and has spent her life in isolation. But, when Olly comes along - is she prepared to risk it all? 

The Actual Review:

I have been anticipating this book since I first saw reviews of it in its pre-publication stages and I was sure that I would love it because it sounded so promising so interesting and so deep. However, upon reading it I found that the story was just disappointing and wasn't delivered like the description was. However, it was a nice enough story to read.

Maddy.... Maddy irritated me. Wait, what?! She's ill, she's lonely and so how can you hate her?!  Well, let me tell you that Maddy is just another YA protagonist with an obsession with books and I am getting sick with the whole cliché. Hermione and the March girls started it all but now there's Calaena, Cath, Hazel, Alaska and need I go on? I feel like that authors are now jus doing it to make their teenage characters 'relatable' and it's just getting irritating now.



Everything, Everything is undoubtedly a unique story and the info-graphs, photocopies and doodles add to the whole experience but not enough to detract from the disappointing story;

Also, I would like to thank Nicola Yoon for writing Everything, Everything. I lent it to a friend who is currently going through a tough time with mental health and they said that it is the only book that has managed to take them somewhere else and distract them from their current situation and that it really helped them. So, thank-you so much Nicola, thankyouthankyouthankyou.

Rating:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In Conclusion:
⚫️ The description is far more promising than the actual story.
⚫️ Oh look... It's another cliché!
⚫️ The story however, is unique
