RE: My phone + My Backyard (Theepika) | Autumn Photography

17:00 Unknown 2 Comments

Ahoy!

Not too long ago, Theepika published a post on her blog showcasing pictures of photos she took in her back garden which inspired me to do the same.

It is Autumn (Fall) here and therefore the plants are beginning to die and I thought I'd capture that transition stage when the colours are (in my opinion) the most beautiful. I actually used my camera for this because my phone takes 144p images, which wouldn't be very aesthetically pleasing!

Ahoy!

I just thought I'd tell you lovely, super awesome people that I am now volunteering at my local library for the summer, as they were looking for temporary recruits! I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue after the 'placement' ends, but hey, a step at a time!

Ahoy!

Rebecca is now recognised as a great piece of English literature by a great, female author. I  read this as part of my reading resolution to read a classic. Read on to hear what I thought of it!

Girl, Missing (Sophie McKenzie) BOOK REVIEW

17:00 Unknown 2 Comments

Ahoy!

Before I continue with the post, I would like to say that THERE WILL BE SPOILERS, so if you do not wish to find out, then please don't read on.

I have read Girl, Missing twice. Funny story (well, probably not) - the first time I read it, I borrowed it from the library as a holiday read, loved it and of course, gave it back. The second time I read it, I saw it in a charity shop and although it sounded familiar, I decided that I hadn't read it and it was on 1/4 of the way through that I recognised the story, but, it is so enjoyable, I continued anyway!

The Perks of Being Left-Handed! | LEFT-HANDED DAY CELEBERATION!

08:30 Unknown 0 Comments

Won't your readers be getting bored of all the celebration posts? I mean, you've done a Bank-Holiday Celebration, Harry Potter/J.K Rowling Birthday Celebration, a Book Lovers Day Celebration and now this!
Shush inner critic, shush.

Ahoy!

Today, August 13th is a great day for me, polar bears and 10% of the population! Because today is international left-handers day! Yup, along with everything else that makes me a weirdo, I am left handed!

But instead of dwelling on the negatives of left-handedism, let us take a look at the positives!

Apple and Rain (Sarah Crossan) BOOK REVIEW

17:00 Unknown 2 Comments

Ahoy!

A Goodreads friend of mine, Jaden, recommended this book to me and almost immediately, I went and requested it from the library!

To be honest, I was quite dissapointed with the story, I think this was heightened by the fact that someone had obviously enjoyed it so much that they thought I would enjoy it. I don't know, I feel like I let them down.

When Did We Stop Dreaming So Big?

17:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Ahoy!

This post will be quite deep.

I had a flashback to a time in year 2 when I would have been about seven. This particular flashback got me thinking and it made me realise that we are all realists at heart. The flashback in question was of an English lesson in which we had to write a descriptive piece. What I wrote is completely forgotten, lost in a void. However, the piece I do remember is J's - the teacher had been so impressed with his work that she read it aloud to the class. I remember that it was about him successfully swimming the Atlantic Ocean.
