My Favourite Songs About Current Affairs
Ahoy!
So after 10 minutes of switching the title around to try and encompass the content of the post, I settled on this one. I really want to share some songs that have made me think and even reevaluate the way we live and work.
1) Where is the Love? - The Black Eyed Peas
3) Barbie Girl - Aqua
Ok, so this isn't about current stuff but I think there is a deeper meaning about consumerism and stereotypes.
3) Little Game - Benny
It's true. It's true.
4) Gay Rude Boys Unite - Leftover Crack
Strangely funny but definitely empowering with a dollop of f*ck you.
5) Mrs. Potato Head - Melanie Martinez
I love this one because it makes beauty standards and the industry childish. Is it a metaphor?
6) Lights Out - Mindless Self Indulgence
Because causing problems does make you famous.
7) Hanging on the Old Barbed Wire
Technically not based on any current things as it is about
WW1 but the message is important.
8) Happy Little Pill - Troye Sivan
What are your thoughts or any more you'd add to the list?
