July WIR (What-I-Read)
Ahoy!
Nearly every book blogger and BookTuber has a monthly post/video called <insert month here> TBR. Which, if you don't know, stands for To-Be-Read. But what I haven't seen yet is a WIR or a What-I-Read. It is very similar, only it is not a look-ahead but a look-back.
1) Apple and Rain- Sarah Crossan
After 11 years away, Apple's mom returns. Bringing with her excitement, and sadness. Stirring up old memories and introducing something or someone new.
Apple and Rain was recommended to me on Goodreads, unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as the person who recommended it to me! I found I boring and unrealistic.
2) And That's When it Fell Off in My Hand - Louise Rennison
Robbie's gone to somewhere-a-gogo Land, and the Stiff Dylan's may have to call it a day..... But then.....
The fifth instalment in the Georgia Nicholson series and, ohmygod, it made me Fangirl.
3) To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
In a Southern town during the 1930's a woman accuses a black man of sexual abuse and emotional manipulation.
I started reading this in English class, but the holidays came before we finished. I chose to finish it and boy am I glad I did!
4) Rebecca - Daphne du Maurier
After a whirlwind romance in Monte Carlo, an unnamed narrator arrives in her new home to find things are not as pleasant as they seemed before.
I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish! It was perfect for curling up and relaxing!
5) Violet Wings - Victoria Hanley
Zaria discovers she is more powerful than the other fairies and genies in Feyland. Being young and unaware she gets carried away and breaks a lot of laws!
Now, it is time for an Awards Ceremony!
Best Book: To Kill a Mockingbird 🌟
Worst Book: Apple and Rain 👎🏼
